Community involvement is part of the Groom Culture. Karen Groom is V.P. of the Board of Directors of West Island Community Shares and is proud to assist in fundraising for Camp Chapleau (a summer camp for under privileged children and mom's). The entire team at Groom believes in helping the community both through time and fundraising.

Founded in 1889, the Old Brewery Mission provides homeless Montreal adults with meals, overnight shelter, transitional residences, clothing and services in an atmosphere of caring and respect. Camp ChapleauCamp Chapleau

"The Old Brewery Mission also operates Camp Chapleau in the Laurentians that has existed since 1906. The camp welcomes 700 low-income women, children and seniors in the summer, offering each the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature - a camping experience they would otherwise be unable to enjoy. Camp services continue in late August, when 150 homeless men and women arrive and are treated to a much-needed getaway from the streets of the city. Camp Chapleau is one of the oldest and largest camps in Quebec. It has over 1600 acres, of trees, lakes and mountains..." More information...


West Island Community Shares

"West Island Community Shares is a non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of the West Island community of Montreal Island.
