The objective was never to be just another large headhunter – that’s too easy; rather it was to unequivocally be the best. In our quest to provide the best professional recruitment services in Canada Groom & Associates made it a mission to help their clients build success, not simply fill empty chairs. Professional Experience

Karen has over 20 years experience in recruitment services. She started her career with an international recruiting agency, specializing in temporary recruitment, before moving into a more senior level specializing in finance and administration. Eventually Karen was training and managing staff in Montreal, Toronto and New York. Karen left the agency world to move into Human Resources at IMS Canada where she hired over 50 people for the Montreal and Toronto offices. She then spent two years with Sprint Canada as a Director of Sales, hiring and managing a team of 16 sales representatives. In time, and with many years of invaluable experience Karen opened her own human resource consulting firm in 1996. Groom & Associates' head office is located in the former banking hall of a heritage building in Old Montreal. Groom & Associates also has offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary to serve those markets.

Miriam has experience with a wide range of clients, from small high growth organizations to some of the largest global organizations. Industries include consumer goods, retail, energy, manufacturing, food and beverage, chemical, mining and metals, plastics and packaging, distribution and logistics. Miriam has conducted mid to senior-level recruitment engagements across a variety of functions including directors, business and corporate development, sales, marketing, finance, engineering, and operations.

Miriam has a degree in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the John Molson School of Business.

From candidate screening, assessment, testing and placement services (including payroll services), to meeting human resource management needs that range from temporary placement of support staff to recruitment of senior management.

  • Permanent/Direct Hire Recruiting: We prescreen and interview candidates then present you with full profiles that go beyond the CV. We then coordinate all interviews and feedback until a hiring decision is made.
  • International Head Hunting, Executive placement / Retained Searches: Industry specific and targeted searches through our 300,000+ candidate database and multi-million active and passive job seeker networks.
  • Temporary / Temp-To-Hire / Contract Staffing / Consulting Solutions: We offer a variety of flexible solutions to help with short or long term temporary staffing needs that can be on our payroll or yours. Temp-to-Hire services allow you to bring someone on for a trial period before committing to hiring them.
  • Payroll Services: Should you lack the head count or infrastructure to pay new employees, our pay-rolling services take care of deductions at source including government taxes and vacation pay.
  • Workforce Management / On-Site Recruitment Services: We help clients with limited human capital resources for large scale or special projects by sending recruiters to our clients’ place of business to meet candidates and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
