(“Groom & Associates Canada”).  References to “we”, “us” or “our” in these terms and conditions are to Groom & Associates Canada and also includes, where applicable, our affiliates, service providers, suppliers and sub-contractors. Acceptance

We use third parties to help us process your information as part of the recruitment process. We may collect and aggregate data from the information supplied by you to help us to understand our users as a group so that we can provide you with a better service. We may also share aggregate information with selected third parties, without disclosing individual names or identifying information. You consent to us using information provided by you (including, without limitation, sensitive personal data) in each of these ways. Hyperlinks and Third-Party Sites

On this Site, you will be offered automatic links to other websites which may be of interest to you. We do not accept any responsibility for or liability in respect of the content of those websites, the owners of which do not necessarily have any connection, commercial or otherwise, with us. Termination

We have the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate any services of the Site and remove any materials from the Site. Exclusive Jurisdiction and governing law

These terms and conditions, and any matter applicable to your direct or indirect use of this Site, shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the Federal laws applicable in the Province of Quebec. Any dispute shall be settled in the courts located in the district of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec, though the foregoing shall not limit the ability of Groom & Associates Canada from seeking injunctions and remedies in other jurisdictions which are required to stop any breach of this Agreement by you.

 

Groom & Associates Canada’s data privacy policy

Groom & Associates Interim Inc. (“Groom & Associates Canada”) is committed to take all reasonable steps to preserve the confidentiality of all Personal Information it collects in a manner consistent with applicable law.

Purpose/Scope: The purpose of this Privacy Policy (“this Policy”) is to set out the manner in which Groom & Associates Canada collects, uses, discloses and otherwise manages the personal information of job seekers, candidates and visitors to our website available at www.groomassocies.com (the “Website”). This Policy does not apply to Groom & Associates Canada’s internal employees, temporary workers, assigned resources, Coop students, interns, volunteers and independent contractors.

Review Period: A minimum of every two year or earlier in the event of legislative reform or as otherwise required to ensure data privacy compliance.

Personal Information: “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual. An individual’s personal information includes his or her name, home address, resume, references, education and work experience and other job-related information. However, it excludes business contact information when used to contact an individual in his/her business capacity, such as contact information disclosed on a business card.

Collection and use of personal information

In the course of its commercial activities, Groom & Associates Canada ordinarily collects, uses and discloses Personal Information to facilitate the search for, selection and recruitment of candidates. Groom & Associates Canada may use online services to help it search for and recruit candidates and may disclose information that identifies its candidates and employees to such service providers for this purpose.

Specifically, we may collect personal information when an individual:

  • Visits on our Website;
  • Applies for a Job;
  • Signs-up to receive job alerts;
  • Signs-up to receive job and career related emails;
  • Participates in a survey;
  • Shares a job listing with a friend;
  • Contacts us with a comment, question or complaint.

Applying for a Job

You do not have to register or create an account to visit and browse certain features of the Website. However, in order to apply for a job, you are required to create an account. We collect your first and last name, email address, phone number and a password that you select in order to create your account and contact you about your job application or other jobs that may be of interest to you. When you apply for a job, we also collect your resume that you upload as well as other employment-related materials you provide to us, including letters of reference, transcripts, awards, etc. We use this information to process your application, assess your qualifications and suitability for the job you applied for as well as for other current and future career opportunities. When you create your My Groom & Associates profile, we can also collect your physical address. This is not mandatory.

Creating a job alert

If you sign up to receive job alerts, we will collect your email address, postal code and keywords for your job search. We use this information in order to send you email communications about new jobs in your area that match your interests.

Signing up for communications

We may offer you the ability to sign-up to receive emails with job and career related information or other newsletters from us. When you sign-up, we collect information such as your name and email address which we use to send you the communications you requested to receive. You can opt-out of receiving these communications from us by following the opt-out or “unsubscribe” instructions provided in your email, or by contacting us as set out below. Please note that you may continue to receive job alerts you have signed up to receive as well as emails regarding jobs you have applied for.

Surveys

From time to time, we may offer you the opportunity to participate in one of our surveys. The information obtained through our surveys is used in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form. We use this information to help us better understand our applicants and improve our Website and services.

Customer Service

When you contact us with a comment, question or complaint, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name, email address, address and a phone number) along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment or complaint. We may also retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service, product and service offerings, and events and promotions.

Sharing and disclosure of personal information

We will not disclose, trade, rent, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information, without your consent, except as set out herein, or required by law.

Prospective employers

When you apply for a job, certain information may be made available to the company with whom you have applied.

Service providers

We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal information to Groom & Associates Canada affiliates or third parties who provide services on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers to send our emails, host our website and operate certain of its features. Groom & Associates Canada maintains record retention schedules to ensure that personal Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which such data was collected or other otherwise meet valid legal or business requirements.

Groom & Associates Canada employs reasonable measures to ensure that Personal Information is kept as accurate as required for its purposes.
